In March 2023, GB Tyres announced Black Country Foodbank as its charity partner, supporting a local organisation that helps individuals and families facing crisis.
As a family-run tyre business with roots in the West Midlands, we wanted to support work that made a practical difference close to home. Our team looked for a charity with strong local connections, a clear purpose and an active approach to working with community partners.
Supporting people across the Black Country
Black Country Foodbank was selected for its work providing emergency food and toiletry parcels. At the time of the announcement, the charity reported that it had supported more than 36,000 people during 2022, including almost 14,000 children.
Its work brought together donations from local people, churches, schools and businesses, alongside the time and commitment of volunteers. That community effort was central to the partnership GB Tyres wanted to support.
A commitment announced in 2023
GB Tyres’ original announcement set out plans for regular donations and for raising awareness of the charity’s work. Our directors highlighted the importance of practical help reaching people in the Black Country when they needed it.
